For your consideration…….
When you were old enough and passed driver’s education, you were given your license and at some point keys to a vehicle. And so it is with life. You are meant to grow up and take charge and be the driver of your life.
You are the driver in your own life journey. While it is fun or necessary to be a passenger in a vehicle, you should never be the passenger in your life journey. Sometimes we get tired and weary and forget that. It is OK to slow down or stop and rest. It is not OK to become the passenger.
The road called Life Journey will at any given time be straight, winding, hilly, bumpy, have pot holes and sharp curves. It may even have some dead ends. Still we should always remain the driver and navigate through it.
We may not be able to see around the curve or over the hill. But if we just keep driving we will. When we start our journey, rarely can we see our destination. But we chart our course, grab our Mapquest, use our GPS or our own reference and head out. We have faith that we will get there. If we get lost, we stop and ask for directions (at least women do). We may get there on time or not but we get there. If it was a rough trip, it does not prevent us from taking another. We just do it.
Not everyone has a vehicle but everyone has their own life and the keys to it. No one needs yours. The keys to your life tool box were given to you, only you. Only you can give them away or borrow them out. If you have done that, you need to take them back.
The world needs all the drivers it can get. It is the HOPE that you will grab your keys and head out with faith you will get where you need to be when you need to be there.
Bit by bit, piece by piece, hope by hope action steps anyone can take…..
-Meditate for as long as you can.
-Get outdoors at least for a few moments.
-Curl up with a good book and a glass of water.
-Or go out and kick up your heels having fun doing something you love, driver’s choice.
What made me smile yesterday…..
-Shannon surprised at the synchronicity. You knows it is there. So always has it. She just forgets.
-Alex still swimming. I love it.
-My neighbor is back from vacation. I picked her up and off to dinner we went.
-I drove Bruce to Subway and was waiting in front. Much to my irritation, a women pulled up near me and made it impossible for other vehicles to pass. Then I remembered. I can be the bigger person. I do not have to participate in this standoff. I am not in a hurry. I have all the time in the world. I drove around the block smiling all the way.
