Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these broken wings and learn to fly
All your life, you were
Only waiting for this moment to arise
Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these sunken eyes and learn to see
All your life, you were
Only waiting for this moment to be free
Blackbird fly, blackbird fly
Into the light of a dark black night
Blackbird fly, blackbird fly
Into the light of a dark black night
Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these broken wings and learn to fly
All your life, you were
Only waiting for this moment to arise
You were only waiting for this moment to arise
You were only waiting for this moment to arise
For your consideration….
This song was originally written in the sixties during the civil rights movement. It is interesting that it is put in front of us again today. We have come a long way but it is clear we have a way to go. But the song today carries a bigger message.
We all have struggles collectively and individually. Many of us like to be part of big things, big movements that create change, the kind of events we read about in history books. This is good. However, the collective it is only as good as the “individuals” participating. It is only as good as their individual intentions.
All change for good or bad happens at the individual level. We are once again, reminded of the power of “I.” I don’t know who wrote this quote but I love it.
“You are bigger and better than whatever is intimidating, scaring or hurting you.”
It is when the “individual” stands up and into their power that real magic happens. That is the power that is unstoppable. We are asked today to be what we want to be. Hold on to our truth and live it. Don’t let go. We are bigger than the darkness that is flung our way. That darkness may have a big voice. That just means it is too noisy to hear its own defeat coming.
Stand in your own “light of a dark black night.” It is more than enough.
That is the HOPE. And so it is.
Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take……
-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”
-Drink lots of water.
-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.
-Trust in your own magic.
What made me smile yesterday…..
-A happy puppy greeting.
-I love watching game shows with my AJ.
-Catching up with friends, Carol and Jackie.
-Hearing from Alex and her “picking out” appliance adventure.
Love, Blessings and Gratitude,
