For your consideration……

Just like with “stuff” we can be emotional or people  hoarders. We are hoarders when we hang on to things we no longer need or have use for, sometimes to the point of personal peril.

We can all readily identify hoarders of stuff but often we don’t think about emotional or people hoarding. Hoarding is about insulating ourselves from fear of loss. It becomes harder and harder to see how limiting it is to us.

We all know people who hold grudges who just can’t seem to let go of “the story” that makes them self-righteous, a hero, a victim etc. Hoarding that grudge is a way to keep that story alive. Grudges are pretty easy to spot but other emotional hoarding like self-doubt or fear that can cause us to procrastinate are harder to recognize. So too with love that has burned itself out and no longer holds its comfort. We may want to hold on to it when it is long past time to let it go.

Like letting love go, letting people go from our life often conflicts us. Relationships, like love, change and they are not always meant to be forever. Hoarding them can ultimately tarnish or sully the blessing they brought into our lives.

Our message today reminds us that it is ok to “let go” of what no longer serves  our highest good and the highest good of all.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take……

-Meditate/pray….ask….”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Let go of the fear of letting go.

What made me smile yesterday……

-A great morning with my kindergarteners.

-A trip to Detroit with Shannon for Whigley’s corned beef which is my Peanut’s birthday dinner request.

-Lunch at Roma Cafe…..always fabulous.

-Fun dreams.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
