Light

For your consideration…..

Were you ever afraid of the dark? Did your parent’s ever have to come in and shine the light under the bed or in the closet? Or did you ever have to do that yourself.

My grandma used to say “little kids little problems, big kids big problems.” I was already a Mom when she told me this and quite frankly that scared the h–l out of me. It was not the reassurance I was looking for. But, of course, it is often true.

The fears, anger, anxiety etc.we have very often started as children. Certainly the triggers for them and the tools we use to handle them started then. For all of us, some of those tools have worked well and some not so well.

But you know what? You have a light in your life tool box that is much more powerful than the flashlights your parents used when you were a child. It works the same, however. Whenever you have fear, anger, anxiety, painful memories etc., they shrink or disappear when we bring them out into the light.

We have nothing to fear but fear itself.

What is holding you back from being all that you can be? Drag it on out here. Shine your light on it. Ask that most important question. “Is it true?” If it isn’t, kick it right out of your Core Essence Self. You have the power. You have the control. You always have a choice. I know it. I HOPE you do too.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, hope by hope action steps anyone can take…..

-Meditate

-Find a picture of, or draw, or write down something that represents you at your highest self. Put it on your vision board. If you don’t have one, start a collection box for when you do.

-Play. Do something fun.

-Hold good thoughts for my Sis, Lori. It is her birthday. Happy Birthday, Sis

-For every cup of coffee, tea, or pop, drink the same in water. I know, I know, I am really finding this tough.

What made me smile yesterday…..

-Alex and I got pedicures. That is a smile and an ahhhh.

-I volunteered at and attended the Captain C. Robert Arvin Foundation, “Awards for Excellence Dinner”. Bob Arvin is a Vietnam war hero. The foundation gives scholarships away to outstanding students who are academic and civic leaders. Every one of the 10 awards made me smile.

-James H. Warner was the speaker at the dinner. He was a Navy NFO who was shot down in Vietnam. He was a POW for five and a half years. He went on to be an outstanding attorney. He was outstanding. I came home and told Bruce about him and showed him the program. “Hey, he said. I know that guy! He married my high school girlfriend, Sharon.” Of course, I had to laugh.
