Angels We Have Heard On High
Angels we have heard on high
Sweetly singing o’er the plains,
And the mountains in reply
Echoing their joyous strains.
Gloria, in excelsis Deo!Gloria, in excelsis Deo!
Shepherds, why this jubilee?
Why your joyous strains prolong?
What the gladsome tidings be
Which inspire your heav’nly song?
Come to Bethlehem and see
Christ Whose birth the angels sing;
Come, adore on bended knee,
Christ the Lord, the newborn King.
See Him in a manger laid,
Whom the choirs of angels praise;
Mary, Joseph, lend your aid,
While our hearts in love we raise.
For your consideration…..
Today’s message is so special. It is about communication. More importantly about communication with our angels.
During the Christmas season we are reminded of and celebrate the birth of Jesus. Today we are asked to focus on another important aspect of the Christmas story. We are asked to focus on the angel that came to Mary and told her of her pregnancy. Then focus on the Angel that talked to Joseph about supporting Mary. Then focus on the Angel that talked to the wise men.
Communication with our angels was set up from the beginning of time. It is an important part of the Christmas story. Where would that story be if no one listened to their angels?
Our angels hear us and they answer us…..always. We are reminded to listen and hold up our end of the conversation. Communication is a two-part process. To be effective we have to talk and listen. The Christmas story is a perfect example of listening, trusting and following through….even if it does not make perfect sense.
Our message today reminds us that just like in the Christmas story, we all have Divine Guidance available to us 24/7. Don’t just ask. Talk and listen.
That is the HOPE. And so it is.
Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…..
-Meditate/pray….ask….”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?” Listen to the answer.
-Drink lots of water.
-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.
-Listen, notice….your Guidance.
What made me smile yesterday……
-Ahhh Kindergarteners. Perfect examples of unpredictability.
-Great dinner with Julie at our new P. F. Chang’s. After all of these years we are never at a loss for words.
-Grocery shopping done. Yikes. Who knew grocery shopping at 7:00 on a Tuesday night was such a popular event?
-Some up front work for our club’s burger night done. I think that by the end of Thursday I will be ready for a long vacation.
Love, Blessings and Gratitude,
Rev. Chris
