I love this song and I love that it was given as an example for today’s message. It is not a mistake that it is a love song. And no, it is not meant only for couples. Our message today talks specifically to our “quirks and imperfections.” Too often we try to hide or change them. We are embarrassed by them.

Of course, it is natural and right to try to improve ourselves and grow and evolve into a better human being. It is part of our journey. What is not right is the self-judgment. Too often we feel unworthy because of our quirks and imperfections. We forget that those quirks are what make us unique and that they are exactly what draws people to us. We can’t see or feel them as the blessings that they are. When we feel we are “less,” we act as though we are less. We minimize ourselves therefore limiting the unique gifts that we have to offer the world.

Look around you. Look at those you love and respect. Can  you find a perfect person among them? Yet you love them all the same. It is the same for each of us. Our quirks and imperfections are what makes us stand out. It makes us a unique flame….a unique yet perfect light.

We are asked to not diminish our flame. The world needs all of the light it can get.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

-Meditate/pray….ask….”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Let go of all the self-judgment and let the “quirky” you shine.

-Such unique and beautiful students.

-I was able to fix my computer. Seriously who can lean over a keyboard and have all of the information on their screen go sideways. After many tense moments, I realized I could still use it if I turned the monitor. Ultimately I was able to google the problem and find the fix was easy.

-Not so successful was my “help” from Apple. After 3 hours on the phone talking to 4 different people, waiting for a supervisor who was supposed to be able to help, I was disconnected and they never called back. I am happy because I have another computer that I was able to download a song and sync on Bruce’s ipod. Yes, all of that was for a song that we could not get to sync. I have some advice, if you have a working ITunes software, DO NOT UPDATE to a new version. There are issues with the new version and obviously the APPLE help desk can not help.
