“STANDING IN THE WIND” by Gwilda Wiyaka

For your consideration…….

I love today’s message. Many of our messages lately have been about changing our own attitudes and “junk” into positive affirmations. Today’s message is a little different. It acknowledges all of the negativity, tough choices, hard spots etc. in our life that surrounds us. Right now it seems like a lot of  “junk” keeps being thrown at us. Is it any wonder that we get negative at times?

What is different about today’s message? We are being bombarded and it just seems easier to “go along” rather than stand our ground. But we pay a price for that. We pay a price when we do not stand our ground. We pay a price when we go against our internal compass.

Today we are given a gift of an analogy for dealing with what is stuff that comes our way. We are asked to consider….remember….what it is like to stand in the wind. The wind may want to carry us off but we choose to stand in place. We are not really fighting it. We are simply standing our ground. Even more importantly, “We enjoy it. We enjoy letting the wind blow around us. We enjoy standing our ground. We are comfortable and confident.”

We don’t have to fight everything. However, we don’t have to accept and follow it either. We need to strike PC (politically correct) for our conversation. We do not have to feel guilty when our internal compass says wrong direction. We don’t have to go against what we know is right. We are the master of our own life. If we don’t like where the wind is blowing, we can simply stand our ground and enjoy the breeze as it moves by.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps……

-Meditate/pray….ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water. Bless it and ask for cleansing.

-Get out door and take in at least 10 deep breaths. Breathe out the “junk” that you have inadvertently breathed in. Breathe in the nourishment Mother Earth wants to give you.

-Honor your inner compass of your authentic self. Stand in the wind and enjoy it blowing past you.

What made me smile yesterday……..

-Mac’s swim championships. I got a great seat. She was awesome and beat all of her times.

-Seeing Christie swim again.

-A great lunch after swim at one of my favorite restaurants…..The Quarter Bistro. Thank you, Sharon.

-It was a tough ride but Stillwater is worth it. Ahhhhhh.

-Catching up with Jackie. She helps me stand in the wind.

Happy Birthday to two beautiful women, Mom and Jody!

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
