For your consideration…..

My daughter, Alex, is going to think this message is about her because she recently used the words “obnoxious and rude” but she is wrong. I also used those words this week in writing a student report. So when the words came in today in a message I had to laugh. I quickly realized that perhaps some clarity was needed regarding a couple of previous blogs.

Mostly today’s message is regarding judgement. When we say someone is “obnoxious and rude,” are we not being judgemental? Indeed we are. How else are we to learn our lessons if we can not see the flaws that need correcting? A judgement is required.

Not long ago we had a message that asked us to consider “protagonists and antagonists.” Without them there would be no story for our life. There would be no way to learn our life lessons. Therefore we should consider that everyone in our life is a blessing and to withhold judgement.

So how do we recognize the flaws without judging others? We judge the behavior. We do not judge the person. We do this all of the time with people we love. We keep bad behavior separate from the person we know and care about.

Today’s message is a clarification. We are not expected to be door mats and let people walk all over us with bad behavior. However, we are expected to suspend judgement of them and realize they are in our life for a purpose. They are a gift.

Judge behavior not the person.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take……

-Meditate/pray…..let your highest self take the lead.

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Take time to just be you. Take time to do exactly what you want to do.

What made me smile yesterday…….

-A day off.

-An easy….no traffic….trip to Stillwater.

-Hanging out on the back deck with Bruce reading.

-Our neighbor at Stillwater talks to himself. Bruce just laughs and laughs. Its contagious.

-An early bed. I love hot days and cold nights for sleeping with the windows open.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
