For your consideration……

I never ask for a specific message. I figure that we get what we get. Who am I to even think I know what people need? I made an exception today and asked for a message pertinent to Memorial Day. Wow, did I get it.

Today’s message starts with “Freedom isn’t free.” We have all heard that but our Guidance more than anyone understands the brute force of those words. Our Guidance has lived it with those who made the ultimate sacrifice and those who continue to serve today without question.

The second part of our message tells us that everyone is born with a free soul and is entitled to keep it free and none of us are truly free until we all are.

And finally the third part of our message tells us that the very best way we can honor those who gave before us is to pick up where they left off. We all have a part whether it is in the military or here on home soil. We all need to fight injustice and for the equality and freedom of all whether it is domestic violence, religious freedom, freedom of all women and all people. We have a role to play if not on foreign soil than here a at home.

We are asked to celebrate our freedom today by honoring those whose fought to protect it and us, those who do so today and by recommitting to their noble and just cause.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take.

-Meditate/pray…..rest in your freedom.

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths. Spend as much time outdoors as you can.

-Spend some time reflecting and honoring those who have gone before us most especially those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.

What made me smile yesterday…….

-Lots of emails from Alex. I like when she stands duty.

-Relaxing at Stillwater after another basement disaster at home.

-Sunshine and plenty of it.

-A good book.
