For your consideration…..

I think there are some of us who are wondering if we are making any progress. How can we not wonder as we turn on the news? WE ARE! Women, the other half of the population, are making progress. I was given three examples that I heard recently, one of them I missed the first part of the interview and listened to the rest. The other two I just heard in passing so I have had to search the internet to find them for us.

The first example was from the TV show Katie. It was on when I came in from school. Arianna Huffington was the guest. She has written a book entitled Thrive. It was the rest of the expanded conversation that we are being called to today. She remarked that, “There should really be a third women’s movement.”  It goes to the point that women should not have to do things as men do to succeed. It is nonsense and should not be a status of success to work enormous amounts of hours. The status should be the success of the talent used to complete a project successfully. If work was more project based and technology incorporated, the untapped talent of more women could be used. Corporations need to be pushed to the less conventional work day and structure.

The second example was a fun event right here in my home town.

More than 770 Rosie the Riveter lookalikes, including 19 “Original Rosies” turned out to the Willow Run Airport

Saturday, March 29, to help set a Guinness World Record for the “most Rosie the Riveters in one place.” (Krystal Elliott/YPSILANTI COURIER)

When the need was great during WWII, women stepped up to the plate. Women did whatever was necessary to support this country and the world. Once again, there is a great need for women to do their FULL share. It is up to women once again to stand up, take our full share of the power and make good things happen.

The third piece example I was reminded of again took place not far from here. It was a controversy over a movie, Honor Diaries, that the University of Michigan, Dearborn, MI campus elected not to be allowed shown. CAIR (Council on American-Islamic Relations) protested the showing of the movie and the University elected to honor their request. What is so significant is the University of Michigan has long had a history of protests…..students using the campus to exercise their right to free speech. Why we were given this example today is this. Once again, women have been relegated to second. If controversy arises, women come in second. But in this case there are protests. That may not make the University change its mind but women have not been silent.

We are reminded today that God, whoever that is to you, does not ever diminish women. If women are diminished it is due to the ego of the human, not God. Women are equal partners in this world. We are reminded that women all over the world ARE standing up. Women ARE making a difference and coming into their full power. Each of us has a role. Stand up, dear Lightworkers. It is time for the other half of the population to show how it should be done.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…..

-Meditate/pray…..tap into and own you power.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Drink lots of water.

-Hold your ground on what you know is right.

What made me smile yesterday……

-Sunshine, sunshine, sunshine.

-I keep chuckling over my sister.

-A good book.

-A relaxing day and evening.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
