For your consideration……

The present is the moment that connects the past to the future.

It is one breath. No matter how we judge it, it does exactly the same thing every single time. It is the “and” and the “so”. It takes us to the next moment and the next and the next and the next. It takes us moment by moment from our past life to our next. It is unavoidable. There is always a present. So maybe we should consider it just that, a present…..a gift.

The future is a culmination of all that ever was connected by the present moment. All that we ever were is in this moment and the next. All that we have learned is in this moment and the next. All that we have every done is in this moment and the next. All that we have ever loved is in this moment and the next.

Life has been “chunked” out for us so that we are not overwhelmed. However, if we take a step back and consider the magnitude of all that we are…..the product of our lives in total……we can objectively see our power gained from our achievements and the realm of possibilities in our future. We can lose our fear because we see it for what it was, a connecting moment like all of the rest.

We will get to the next moment no matter what. Today we are asked to consider making ever moment count. It is key to our future.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take……

-Meditate/pray…..embrace the moment.

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Live fully in each moment. Give it your all.

What made me smile yesterday……

-My back yard glittering in the sunshine.

-An easy day. I met lots of new interesting people.

-Catching up with my sister.

-When I was ready to write yesterday’s blog, I grabbed my computer sitting next to the sofa on a wooden box that I use as an end table of sorts. When I grabbed it, the cord got hung up on the lid and lifted it up dumping everything on the floor. I thought this is stupid. I should just keep this stuff sitting here inside the box and eliminate the clutter. I opened the lid and saw that there was already stuff inside and I don’t recognize it. As I briefly sorted through I found and old war metal, buttons, old marbles in hand sewn bags, silver match boxes, elaborately carved small ivory statues and a smaller box. When I opened that box I found a flyer and some letters. One by one I opened the letters to find that they are family letters written in the 1800’s before the civil war. What a joyful surprise I had yesterday morning and start to my day!

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
