For your consideration……

Ahhh….the weekend. For many this has been a challenging week for many reasons, weather not being the least of them. Many of us have experienced “forced” days off this week. There are no coincidences. If we were forced to stay home, it was because we needed it. Today’s message addresses the upcoming weekend…..actually all weekends and vacations.

We are told that weekends and vacations are necessary for the 3 R’s…..Relax, Refresh, Regroup. We are reminded to not simply swap one set of work and chores for another. We need to stop, catch our breath and re-balance by doing the 3 R’s.

We are all encouraged to do what we love to do during this weekend….do what relaxes us. This should not be an after thought. It should be a first thought. This should not be an “if I can fit it in”. It should be a priority. We need to take care of ourselves. Removing ourselves from all of the “hub bub” and taking down time is not selfish. It is preventive medicine.

You have earned downtime. You need downtime to…………… Relax, Refresh, Regroup.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…….

-Meditate/pray……embrace the silence.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Drink lots of water.

-Relax, Refresh, Regroup

What made me smile yesterday…….

-Are you smarter than a 5th grader? I don’t know but I do know I know a lot more about appropriate behavior. This was definitely a sharing day.

-Jody said she will help my Alex with her taxes. Wahoo.

-Videos of my Peanut’s birthday….just priceless.

-Dude was so happy to go to the Gordon’s for his doggie vacation.
