For your consideration…….

Today we are reminded that being justified does not make it right and deep down we know it. We know the difference. We feel when something is not right and just because we can justify it, that is not an excuse to do what we know deep down is wrong.

We have all been there. Someone accuses us of something or says unkind things to us that is untrue or unjust and while they are wrong we know or sense their distress. We feel their pain. Throwing angry unkind words back at them may be justified but not right.

Let me give another example. One Christmas Day about 3 or 4 years ago, my daughter and I volunteered to help Meals On Wheels. In our city a church donates their facility to the program. I went to the parking lot to get one of the vans, slipped on ice and broke my back. Many people later asked me if I was going to sue. After all, churches have insurance. Should the ice have been cleared? Perhaps. However, their everyday commitment to the community demonstrated their love for their fellow-man. No, under no circumstances would I sue them or their insurance company. That just would not feel right.

You get the point. Rarely is anything black and white. We have free will. We know what feels right. We are asked to follow our inner compass, our Guidance, and do the right thing….not necessarily the justified thing.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…….

-Meditate/pray…..connect with your authentic self.

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Follow your heart.

What made me smile yesterday……

-More snow….big flakes….little flakes….Yikes. My back yard looks like an iced cake.

-Birthday cards made.

-Nick and Kathy treated all of the family to dinner for Mac, Mary, Shannon and my birthdays. It was fun.

-I loved connecting with Kathy N. last night.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
