For your consideration…….

Wisely we were given today’s message on Friday. Our angels are wise and they have a sense of humor. Most of us probably would not be as receptive on a Monday morning.

Today’s message talks about the benefits of work….beyond what we normally think in terms of work benefits like, health care, vacation days, salary, bonuses etc.

I picked the above picture because we often hear different dog breeds described by the work they were bred to do. If you have ever been to a dog show or seen one on TV, you will hear announcers talk about how “happy and fulfilled” dogs are when they get to do their “work”. Conversely, dogs who do not can be frustrated and tend to “get into trouble”.

Benefits that are good for our soul are the work benefits that are being talked about today. We are simply not meant to “do nothing”. We all have a life purpose. We discover it through a variety of sources with work being a big one.

Work allows us to grow and believe in ourselves. Work helps us realize our value and potential. When we work, we achieve. When we realize we can achieve, we stoke our HOPE. We realize we are capable. We have earned that realization. It is a self-realization that can not be given to us.

I know we all grumble sometimes about work. It comes with its challenges. Today’s message does not mean to suggest it doesn’t. What today’s message tells us that we receive “benefits” from all the aspects of work….the physical benefits, the monetary benefits, the challenges, the frustration, the companionship, the knowledge etc. It is all good.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…….

-Meditate/pray…..Be joyous for all that you have achieved through work.

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Remember….you are in charge of you.
