Color With Personality
For your consideration……
Following is the blog I wrote for Monday. I was confident that I had posted it so I am not sure what happened. Even though my web host does a great job and I have had not trouble, I am a little bit controlling. So taking no chances, I copy and save each posting to my own desktop hard drive. Once a month I copy the file to an external file. Then once a year I burn a CD of the year’s blogs. If I post off of my desktop, I copy the file immediately to my hard drive. If I am on my laptop, I will do it the next time I work on my desk top. I tell you this because I have a process and you can understand my shock when Wednesday I went to save Monday’s post only to find that I had not posted it. I had written it, but it had not posted. I am not quite sure what happened and was a little distressed and started wondering if I could “back post”. As I sat with it, I was given the message that the post was not for Monday. It is meant for November 8th.
Ahhh, and I know why. I was woken to see that sky because I would recognize it. It was a sky like the sky on the November 8th day my dad died several years ago. Monday’s message is meant for today. I am not sure why but know that Monday was not an accident and its message is meant for today.
Here it is……
I briefly woke up this morning and opened my eyes to a magnificent sunrise, lines of robin’s egg blue and orange. Then it looked like a fine brush dipped in and dragged color up further into the sky. Later when I woke up again the sky was the same with the same amount of clouds but there was only grey….no color. I was so disappointed.
In meditation I was reminded of my observation and how I felt and was questioned. I was reminded at my joy at the color and the feelings and memories it invoked. I was reminded of the contrast to the same sky in black and white.
So it is with our life on any given day. We can go through the day in black and white…grey… or we can seek out and add color. How do we do that? We do that by letting our authentic self lead the way through our personality. We do that by adding our personality….our gifts……..our essence to all that we do. We do that by seeking and drawing out the personality of others.
Life is better with color. Life is better if we share our authentic selves with each other. Life is better when we engage with one another.
That is the HOPE. And so it is.
Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…..
-Meditate/pray…..check in and engage with your authentic self. Let it step forward.
-Drink lots of water.
-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths. Engage with Mother Nature.
-Spice up your life.
What made me smile yesterday…….
-Waking up to text messages from Alex. She hadn’t gone to bed and I was up getting ready for work.
-Shannon is safe after an unexpected encounter with a deer. HOPEfully her new car will be better soon.
-A new appreciation for my friend and teacher, Tammy
-Our dog looks so handsome after a good trip to the groomers.
-Wahoo and congratulations for my niece and God daughter, Kerri and Jeff. Her ring is beautiful and we can not wait to get the …..rest of the story.
Love, Blessings and Gratitude,
Rev. Chris
Sending you Love and Blessings, Dad
