Please Define Can’t
For your consideration……
If we were a squirrel, “can’t” would not be a word in our vocabulary. It simply would not exist. When we were babies, we had to be taught “can’t”, usually for our own safety. We are told today that we overuse the word. Too often it is the first word that pops into our head and hearts and we miss opportunities, HOPEs and miracles intended for us.
When opportunities and miracles cross our path, the first words we should think are; I will, I can, why not me, of course, wahoo, thank you etc.
Behind every success story there is a back story. There is a story where someone ignored the odds. They did not see or chose not to accept the “unlikely”. They ignored the “Ican’t”.
Where would Michael Jordan be if he let initially NOT making the basketball team stop him? Where would Bill Gates be if he stopped because no one else “got” his vision and could not see the realm of possibilities? What if Mother Teresa had ignored the odds and enormous difficulties facing her in India?
When opportunities cross our path, our first thoughts should be “I can”. Why else are they being presented to me? They are given to me for a reason. I don’t have to see the whole road to fruition. I just have to take the first step and have faith that the next one will be presented to me as need be.
That is the HOPE. And so it is.
Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take……
-Meditate/pray….commit to listening and seeing your opportunities.
-Drink lots of water.
-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.
-Minimize the word “can’t”.
What made me smile yesterday……
-I had a great student teacher in my class. She is getting ready to graduate. Any school will be lucky to have her.
-I had a coffee with my friend, Jul and a promise for dinner tomorrow.
-The gloomy skies gave way to a peak at the sun in the afternoon…..ahhh the promise.
-Practical Alex.
-A surprise gift card from Jessica and Tom. What’s not fun about that?
Love, Blessings and Gratitude,
Rev. Chris
