A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity;

an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty.

Winston Churchill

For your consideration……

Today’s message is the epitome of HOPE. We are “promised” that every single day we are given “nudges of opportunity”. It is just up to us to see, hear and/or feel them.

Here are examples:

-Someone pops into your head for no apparent reason. Do you think you should contact them?…..Yeah! Does it matter if you know why or not?…..No!

-Your attention is drawn to something. The question is why. Follow that lead.

-You notice someone who you think needs help? Should you offer? Yeah. I had this situation happen the other day. I was with my daughter and grandkids. We had just finished lunch and were walking to our care in a parking lot. There was a woman out there just wandering….clearly searching for something. I asked if she had lost her car. She said no that her daughter had called and said she was in the parking lot with her grandchild but she did not see them. She had just walked out to meet them without a purse or phone. I told my daughter pull up by her and I will borrow her my phone. But my daughter wouldn’t do it, thinking it would be strange…..a point of view completely missed on me. If I was driving, I would have done it in a minute.

-You go to the bookstore or are shopping on-line for a certain book but another one keeps drawing your eye or falls off the bookshelf. That should get your attention.

-You feel like you need to sit outside for a moment. Do it. Listen.

-You are drawn to be of service somehow but have never done it. Volunteer. Or on the flip side you involved with an organization or club and you feel you have done all you were supposed to there. Move on to where you feel you can be of better service.

-Someone is telling you something but their body language says something else. Ask questions. Figure out the “rest of the story.”

You get the picture. It is being aware and fully present in the moment and following the thread of opportunities put in your path. That requires us not letting our ego talk us out of it for all the reasons it has in its trick bag…..not enough time, none of my business, I don’t know how etc. etc. etc.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take……

-Meditate/pray…..get to know what your authentic self sounds and feels like.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Drink lots of water.

-Do some form of activity…..walk, deep breath, yoga, rumba etc.

What made me smile yesterday……

-Errands with my hubby.

-A new oracle deck that is just beautiful by Kim Dreyer.

-An early morning call from a joyous Alex.

-Talking to Jody.

-I found just the bag I needed to take our tent to WA.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
