For your consideration…….
I understood today’s message immediately. The value of “simple service” is immeasurable.
It is easy to see and appreciate service after a disaster….a big event. And it is easy to see and appreciate service through all of the volunteer organizations. Needs are identified and needs are met. It is all good.
But today we are drawn to the smaller life moments where there are needs not so noticable. We are constantly in need of reassuring, picking-up, kindness, gentleness, reminding, love, appreciation, attention etc.
Whether we realize it or not. When someone looks you in the eye when speaking to you and smiles, they have given you a gift for your soul. When someone gives you a hug or pat on the back with reassuring words, you know they have heard you and understand. And likewise when you do the same for them, simple service is gifted.
Simple service……takes a moment and lasts forever because it is a soul to soul connection. It is the truth of who we are or a reminder of who we are meant to be.
That is the HOPE. And so it is.
Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take……..
-Meditate/pray……your simplicity is in your authentic self.
-Drink lots of water.
-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.
-Smile…extend a hand….be generous with your hugs, frequent with you compliments.
What made me smile yesterday……..
-Our road trip continued from Lancaster, PA to Hershey PA and on into Ohio.
-Homemade ice cream and root beer.
-Chocolate.
-Our beautiful country.
-A happy Alex….. after a hard week a joyous reunion with many friends.
