For your consideration……

This Elizabeth Taylor quote is perfect for today’s message. I love it because it was uniquely personal to her.

We all need to pause and regroup. We all need to pause and pull it together. The faster we go the harder it is. None the less it needs to be done. How we regroup will be unique to each one of us. I personally would never think to go put on some lipstick. But I would think to grab a warm cup of coffee and sit under the lap quilt my mother made for me or going into meditation.

My 24-year-old Navy aviator daughter makes no apologies for keeping her “stork” and her “purple” (an afghan made for her by a friend  before she was born) on her bed each night. My oldest daughter makes no apologies each year going on a yearly spa weekend with an eclectic group of women. My sister is very vocal about needing “alone” time on the weekends. And I have many friends who are  retiring and trying to figure out how they get their alone space when they and their spouse are both home 24/7.

Maybe you regroup reading a book, grabbing a drink on Friday night, sitting alone in the dark reflecting or meditating. Maybe you regroup talking to your best friend……or maybe sometimes it is a stranger.

Whatever comforts you and works for you is perfect. We are reminded today that we need that down or regroup time. It nourishes us and strengthens us. This is a perfect message for a Saturday. Don’t forget you…..don’t forget to take time for you to regroup.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take……

-Meditate/pray…..a daily practice of even a couple of minutes has enormous benefit.

-Take in at least 10 deep breaths at least once a day outdoors.

-Drink lots of water.

-Chill out whatever that means to you.

What made me smile yesterday……

-A dear friend, Rosie,  has found peace.

-My Alex is back on land and full of excitement.

-I laughed out loud at my third graders at recess. Our snow has turned very hard. Walking on piles of it that have turned into mountains was great fun for them. They had their very own science experiment going. Who can step on it in various places and not sync through it.

-My friend Jackie.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
