Elvis Presley “If I Can Dream”

Songwriters: WALTER EARL BROWN
(Words & music by brown)
There must be lights burning brighter somewhere
Got to be birds flying higher in a sky more blue
If I can dream of a better land
Where all my brothers walk hand in hand
Tell me why, oh why, oh why can’t my dream come true
Oh whyThere must be peace and understanding sometime
Strong winds of promise that will blow away
All the doubt and fear
If I can dream of a warmer sun
Where hope keeps shining on everyone
Tell me why, oh why, oh why wont that sun appear

Were lost in a cloud
With too much rain
Were trapped in a world
That’s troubled with pain
But as long as a man
Has the strength to dream
He can redeem his soul and fly

Deep in my heart there’s a tremblin question
Still I am sure that the answer gonna come somehow
Out there in the dark, there’s a beckoning candle, yeah
And while I can think, while I can talk
While I can stand, while I can walk
While I can dream, please let my dream
Come true, ohhhhh, right now
Let it come true right now
Oh yeah

For your consideration……
I loved getting this song for our message. To me it is awakening by asking the questions and then dreaming the answers.  And that gives me HOPE.
Today’s message tells us there is no “if” about it. We can dream. Today we are being asked to notice. Notice what is right and what isn’t.  Notice what works and what doesn’t. Imagine the world in what you would consider a perfect state. Hold on to those dreams. Take them to the light. Even the smallest amount of light is enough.
That is the HOPE. And so it is.
Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take……
-Meditate/pray…..
-Notice your dreams.
-Drink lots of water.
-Take in at least 10 deep breaths outdoors.
-Be happy, happy, happy. It is Friday.
What made me smile yesterday……
-I love my insurance company.
-Funny, funny, funny 2nd graders.
-A science fair. Do your remember how fun it used to be to grow crystals? I had forgotten.
-My Peanut is a swimming machine. A beautiful champion.
-Yvonne brought me belated birthday gifts from Shannon. I can’t wait to use them.
Love, Blessings and Gratitude,
Rev. Chris
