Your Spiritual Gifts
For your consideration…..
I was given this message today for you and for me. We are being asked to remember that not only is our Core Essence Self perfect, but we were also each given gifts to share.
Why is it that most of us discount or minimize our greatest gifts? I think it is because they are inherent to who we are. They are so natural and easy to us we don’t recognize them as gifts. We don’t realize when we are sharing them.
My friend, Christine, is amazing with words. She can articulate exactly what she wants to say leaving no doubt to the message. Yesterday she told me what a help I was to her. But it was like a mirror. She turned on lights for me that have given me at least the next step I need to take. More than that she gave me the HOPE that I can do a task I know I must do. I noticed each of us has different gifts and what a huge impact they are when freely shared.
My daughter, Alex is an absolute joy to wake up. Yes, I said wake up. No matter how many hours of sleep. No matter how tired, she would always say, “OK, Mommy, thank you.” She says that with a smile everyday. She absolutely can not see where bringing that joyous attitude into each day is a gift. Maybe I understand her not listening to me. But what about all those roommates she has had who freely write how much they miss her. Specifically, they need some some of that joy. Yet, she discounts it.
Then there is my dearest of friends, Jackie. She never claims all the gifts she has to offer. If you need a friend, if you need comfort, if you need love, if you need laughter, Jackie is who you would call. Not one day, not one moment, have I not been a better person because she is my friend.
My sister-in-law, Kathy, is the same way. I walk through life knowing that if I ever fall, if I ever need help, I just have to call. She doesn’t even need to know the problem. The first words out of her mouth are, “I’ll fix it, what can I do.”
I could go on and on giving you examples of all my family and friends and what gifts they bring to my life and undoubtedly others. I could cite countless examples of how they minimize them. But who am I to talk? I do the same. What about you?
Today we are being asked to recognize our gifts for how precious they really are. Indeed, how precious we really are.
Bit by bit, piece by piece, hope by hope action steps anyone can take.
-Notice when a family member or friend calls you today. Why do you think they called you? There’s a clue.
-Pause for as long as you can today. Did anything pop up? Journal it.
-Pause and take 10 deep breaths
-Grab a pen and piece of paper, close your eyes and write words or sentences that pop into your head. No, they don’t need to make sense or go together. Don’t think about that. Just write what pops up. Give it a couple of minutes. Now open your eyes. What is there? Why do you think it popped up. Automatic writing is fun, easy and revealing.
What made me smile yesterday…..
-Christine and all of her help
-The children I read to at the library
-My daughter, Shannon, and I got to share lunch, just the two of us. It was unexpected (the best kind).
-My Peanut, the softball player
-As always, Alex.
Love, Blessings and Gratitude,
Chris

I like this web blog very much so much superb information. “Books are not made to be believed, but to be subjected to inquiry.” by Umberto Eco.
Excellent read, I just passed this onto a colleague who was doing a little research on that. And he just bought me lunch because I found it for him smile Thus let me rephrase that: Thanks for lunch! “A human being has a natural desire to have more of a good thing than he needs.” by Mark Twain.
“In love the paradox occurs that two beings become one and yet remain two.” ~ Erich Fromm
“Love is what you’ve been through with somebody.” ~ James Thurber
“Before I met my husband, I’d never fallen in love. I’d stepped in it a few times.” ~ Rita Rudner
