Shake It Up

For your consideration…..
I have been getting the this message for days in various conversations I have had with people but did not know until this morning that it was a message for the blog. This morning I was given the song “Shake It Up” and reminded of those conversations.
I won’t include all of the song but here it is in part:
Shake It Up
by Selena Gomez
Sh-sh-sh-shake it up. You gotta change it up. And if the days not right, just brush it off all night.
Put on your attitude. You’re in my pocket mood. And when you’ve had enough, Sh-sh-sh-shake it up.
Bring the lights up. Bust the doors down. Dust yourself off. Shake it up, shake it up
DJ, set it up. Take it up a notch. All together now. Shake it up shake it up (Shake it off)
What’s the message about? Sometimes we have done so much adjusting that the result no longer looks anything like what we had intended.
Here are some examples:
*An assembly line. Anyone who has ever worked on one knows that balancing is key. You add in this operation and then another and then another making little balancing adjustments that seem to work. But finally you add that one more and suddenly it just doesn’t flow right. It is all off.
*Consider additions on buildings or even just to rooms. You add a little here and a little there until one day it just is off. It is no longer the vision you started with. It no longer flows.
*Maybe it is in your workplace. The scope of work has increased. Tasks get assigned where they seem to make the most sense. But suddenly one area is far more busy than another. Again, there is an imbalance that creates all sorts of issues.
*Maybe it is with a friendship. You have grown and changed and adjusted only to find that the relationship just doesn’t fit anymore. You a just far too different people.
The message today is addressing our lives. Sometimes we have fit in, adjusted or tweeked all we can only to find we are out of balance. Our life does not resemble anything we had intended. We have somehow lost ourselves along the way bit by bit, piece by piece.
Sometimes we just have to throw it all up in the air and “shake it up”. We are reminded that we are strong with an amazing support system behind us. It will be OK. Go for it.
That is the HOPE. And so it is.
Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…..
– Meditate. …. What is your Guidance encouraging you to do?
-Drink lots of water.
-Get outdoors and enjoy the fall weather. Take in at least 10 deep breaths.
-Do some automatic writing. Close your eyes. Get calm. Write anything that pops into your head. Don’t judge it. Just write it anywhere your pen lands on the paper.
What made me smile yesterday……
-I had a great school day. I met amazing teachers.
-Beautiful fall weather with a little rain at night and then sunshine all day long.
-I love being with younger students who still get recess. I need it. They need it. We all need it.
-A chill night. Easy dinner. Easy reading.
-Business completed.
Love, Blessings and Gratitude,
Rev. Chris
