For your consideration…….

Ginger has been a valued herb for hundreds of years because of its ability to “spice” up food and drink. But it is also valued for its medicinal qualities.

On www.care2.com the author writes:

The spicy ginger root has been used for centuries in foods, teas, and healing.

What you may not know is that it offers help for those of us who sometimes procrastinate or lack self-confidence and drive.

Here’s why ginger is an energy-boosting ally:

Ginger strengthens the yang energy of the Kidneys and the Will. Traditionally associated with the astrological planet Mars–a symbol of force and virility–this dynamic, fiery essence activates will-power, stimulates initiative, and restores determination. With a concomitant action on the Heart and the Mind, it can in addition help to boost confidence and morale, particularly in those with poor vitality.

Ginger oil is indicated for those who have clear plans and good intentions, but who lack the personal drive and optimism to manifest initiative and take real or immediate action. Ginger oil is the ideal catalyst of the Will, invoking and enhancing their vital fire. Tapping this, the source of all action, ginger can restore the exhilaration of achievement.

Ginger Tea
Thinly slice several rounds of fresh ginger root and place them in a teacup. Drizzle with one teaspoon of honey, then cover with boiling water and steep for 5 minutes or longer. You may want to eat the roots after you’ve finished drinking the tea.

Ginger Bath
Sprinkle 5 drops essential oil of ginger in a tub filled with warm water. Soak for several minutes to absorb the benefits of ginger.”

Why were we shown Ginger today? The message is that we are loved and provided for. We are asked not to be immune to the gifts that Mother Earth surrounds us with. We are asked to not be so quick to dismiss natural remedies. We like things quick. We like quick solutions. It is much easier to run to the doctor than research what we can do for ourselves. Of course, sometimes that is the best course of action. But lets not forget that all cures come from Mother Earth in some way, shape or form.
The second reason we were given the ginger root today is to remind us that we must get to the “root” of a problem if we truly want to solve it. We need to do the deep digging. It is worth the effort.
That is the HOPE. And so it is.
