For your consideration…….
I love everything about today’s message and the above picture is perfect for it. The message is “Remember the sunflower. Turn to the sun, turn to the light.”
Today as HOPEfully most will start a long weekend, the sunflower is an absolutely perfect role model.
Look at the above picture. Do you get the sense that the sunflowers are waking up and about to rise with the sun? Do you see some of them already turning in anticipation?
Look they are no worse for wear from the previous darkness. They are still standing ready to choose to face the sun. They are ready to receive the joy of the suns rays on their faces.
Intuitively we feel the joy of the sunflowers. We feel their optimism. How can they not be? They receive their energy from the sun. They are a self-fulfilling prophesy.
And so can we be. We can choose to rise each morning in joyful anticipation. We can choose to leave darkness behind. We can choose to follow the light. We can choose to stand in its brightness soaking up all that is right and good. We can choose to nourish those around us with it. We have a choice. We always have a choice.
That is the HOPE. And so it is.
Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE actions steps anyone can take…….
-Meditate. Feel your calm. Let your joy rise.
-Drink lots of water.
-Get outdoors and soak up some of the sunlight. Take in at least 10 deep breaths.
-Just have fun. Play. Celebrate all that you have right now.
What made me smile yesterday…….
-My girls both out in nature having fun albeit opposite side of the country.
-Peace at Stillwater.
-Lots of reading, some for my Master’s program and some just idle reading on the back deck.
-I perfect day with perfect sun and temperatures.
-And the highlight……..an absolutely perfect and beautiful cork board made by an old friend, John. It is the perfect size and the perfect solution to that fuse box cover in the middle of the room. I absolutely love it. It is way beyond what I could ever have dreamed. It is a perfect addition to Stillwater.
