Dissection of Worry
“Worry never robs tomorrow of its sorrow, it only saps today of its joy.”
Leo Buscaglea
Well I should have seen this coming……worry. I know better. But still…… and I know I am not alone.
The message was “Worry is like a mosquito except it doesn’t suck your blood. It sucks your soul.” Then I was told to look at worry for what it was……dissect it.
Ok. If we are worried, something must be out of our control.
Why is it out of our control?
We must not know how to do or fix something or someone.
Is that true?
Do you really not know how to fix it? Or are we worried we are not enough. Are we self sabotaging? We are asked to do our best. If we do, it is enough. We are enough. If it does not turn out the way we have envisioned, maybe that is because our vision was wrong.
Or maybe it is true. We do not have a solution. Why do we think that is? Maybe it is because it is not our problem to fix. Maybe the timing is wrong. Maybe it is not a problem at all….it is exactly according to God’s plan. We just don’t know. So we must surrender it. We must let it go. We can and should ask that it be worked out and solved for the highest good. But then we have to release it so it can happen.
I know that is easier said than done. But I also know that having negative energy attached to anything is not good. It inhibits solutions and growth. It robs us of our joy. Worry is the absence of HOPE. Absence of HOPE, is lack of faith and trust.
More and more, we are being forced to choose. Do we have faith or not? Are we ready to accept all that God has planned for us or not? Is our plan as big as his? Whose plan would you rather follow?
We are being asked to follow and do the tasks put in front of us to the best of our ability and with as much love as possible. If we do not have a solution to problems, we are to ask for help and then surrender them.
Worry, is lack of trust and faith. It does nothing but cloud our vision. That is depression.
Cut worry free. If you start to worry, stop. Ask for help and then let it go. Trust that the solution is already in place. We don’t have to know what it is. That is God’s job and he has lots of help.
Our job is what we can control….working our life to the best of our ability. Our job is to do all we can using the tools we were given. If you are doing that, it is enough.
That is the HOPE. And so it is.
Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take……
-Meditate. Let those “worries” put up. Look at them. Love them. Bless them. Ask that they be healed for the highest good. Release them. Trust.
-Drink lots of water. Water cleanses us and it helps with our clarity. We need clear heads and hearts.
-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.
-Notice when you start to worry. Pause, bless and release the worry.
-Write an affirmation of the healing of your problem. Carry it with you. Refer to it whenever the worry comes up.
What made me smile yesterday…..
-Talking to Jackie makes my drive to Stillwater seem like a few minutes.
-A great late afternoon boat ride.
-A great dinner at Catch 22.
-New veggies from my neighbor’s garden.
-A great catch-up and enlightening chat with Christine.
-My Alex is still on for a flight to Michigan. Ohhh, am I really going to see my Babycakes next Friday?
Love, Blessings and Gratitude,
Chris
