The Great Leap of Faith

It’s yours, take it,
Leap like a lunatic
Over the chasm below
Erupting as you go
Your true self awaits you
NOW you will know

For your consideration…..

I loved this picture and message so I used it today as a little “pep talk”. But our message is actually a little different…not much…..but still different.

Our message today is about “putting ourselves out there”. Of course, we get the big things that are expected of us. But today is about the little things. Today is about those fleeting thoughts that we let come and go with no action.

Since I have probably thoroughly confused you, let me give some examples….

-You don’t know why but you get the thought that you need to call someone. Do it.

-You want to go into a restaurant or movie but don’t want to go alone. Do it anyway.

-You are in a hurry but feel you need to do something first. Stop and do it.

-You have made a commitment or date but feel you should stay home. Stay home.

-Or visa versa, you see something you suddenly feel you should attend. Attend.

-You are drawn to a stranger who looks lonely and you think you should speak to them. Speak to them.

-You are sitting alone and you see that there is someone searching for a place to sit down and you have the thought they could share your table. Make the offer.

-Your eye catches a book which is not what you came for or was looking for. Pause with it for a moment. Is there something in it you need to read or do you feel you need to read the whole book. Do it.

-You have something that someone else is very attracted to. You can just tell….give it to them if it is not important to you. Or tell them where you got it if it is .

-Complement people as the thought occurs to you. Don’t just think it….speak it.

Those random thoughts are not so random. We are constantly being given messages and signals to help us along our path. But it is up to us to recognize and act on them. Too often we think we will appear strange, are afraid or don’t do something because our ego can’t rationalize it.

We are reminded today that we have nothing to fear. If someone tells us “no” when we have extended a hand or offer, that does not equate to a rejection. Maybe we were prompted to be the lesson or the example because maybe that person has their own fear. Maybe we don’t have a reason to make that call but maybe it will become clear in the conversation.

The point is that just because we don’t know the reason for the prompt doesn’t mean it is not important or that it should go unheeded. Sometimes we just have to remember that “We have nothing to lose.” We just need to do it. That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take….

-Meditate. The more comfortable you get with yourself the more easily you will recognize those prompts.

-Drink lots of water.

-Take at least 10 deep breaths outside.

-Go for a walk. Stretch.

-Sit down with a drink, cup of tea or coffee, water etc. Close your eyes for just a couple of minutes.

What made me smile yesterday……

-A slow day at the club.

-We found the problem with the microphone on my little netbook. Of course, it was a settings problem.

-A Skype tour of Alex’s place.  Talking to her is great but seeing her is soooo much better.

-Another cool night with windows and doors wide open. It just doesn’t get better than that.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Chris
