It’s A New Day
For your consideration……
I think today’s message is a continuation of yesterday’s for two reasons. The first one being we were given a card entitled “Power of Joy”. (How about that as an affirmation?). And second we were given the following song written by Anthony Newley and Leslie Bricusse;
“Feeling Good”
Birds flyin’ high, you know how I feel
Sun in the sky, you know how I feel
Breeze driftin’ on by, you know how I feel
It’s a new dawn, it’s a new day, it’s a new life for me.
Yeah, it’s a new dawn, it’s a new day, it’s a new life for me, ooooooooh…
And I’m feelin’ good.
Fish in the sea, you know how I feel
River runnin’ free, you know how I feel
Blossom on the tree, you know how I feel
It’s a new dawn, it’s a new day, it’s a new life for me,
And I’m feelin’ good
Dragonfly out in the sun, you know what I mean, don’t you know,
Butterflies all havin’ fun, you know what I mean.
Sleep in peace when day is done: that’s what I mean,
And this old world is a new world and a bold world for me…
Stars when you shine, you know how I feel
Scent of the pine, you know how I feel
Yeah, freedom is mine, and I know how I feel..
It’s a new dawn, it’s a new day, it’s a new life for me
And I’m feelin’… good.
So today we are reminded of the joy that surrounds us always and the power of that joy. But there is an additional message. There is more to it. While joy surrounds us and is constant, our attachment to it is not. Again, it is up to us to seize it and carry it forward to the next moment and new day.
The cycle of the new day arrives without our permission. It arrives whether we are ready for it or not. It holds the promise of everything imaginable each and every sunrise. It it the attitude we carry forward that determines what the day will hold for us. The energy attached to that attitude determines the next moment and the next….
What brought you joy or made you sad is gone. It expired with time. We can not duplicate a moment. But the energy we attached to those moments and memories lives on in us whether it was yesterday or a decade ago.
Again, we are reminded of our free will. Choose those moments that brought you joy to carry to the next moment and into the new day. It is that joy of life that will keep you open to all the opportunities God has to offer. Joy is key to all abundance; love, wealth, prosperity, peace, happiness etc.
That is the HOPE. And so it is.
Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take….
-Meditate…..release your sadness, disappointment, anger etc. to the Universe for healing. Tap into your inner peace.
-Drink lots of water.
-Spend as much time outdoors with Mother Nature as you can. Let her nurture you. Take in at least 10 deep breaths.
-Whether you are sad or glad, remember what you are grateful for each night before closing your eyes.
What made me smile yesterday…..
-Waking up at Stillwater and remembering my Sis, Lori, and Rod were here.
-Breakfast, garage sales, and antiquing with my Sis.
-An old bench, perfect for Stillwater.
-A great ALC conference call. It is great to have these check-ins with classmates.
-Fresh perch from my neighbor.
-Olympic swim trials.
-Watching amazing fireworks set off on the river during the Pickerel Tournament. The best part was I was in my PJ’s watching from my deck.
Love, Blessings and Gratitude,
Chris
