For your consideration…..

…..on what your heart knows.

Today I was reminded of something I saw on TV. Now since I will not post anything political on this blog, I really had a hard time because the image I was given was of a Marco Rubio interview. So, of course, I protested. This can not be right. But I was reminded of why I had continued to watch the interview.

Rubio described one of his campaigns, perhaps his last one. I am not sure. But he described how an opening had come up and he was distraught that no one he felt was perfect for it was running for the office. His wife, who does not really like politics, basically told him, “If you feel that strongly, why aren’t you running?” “If it is that important, why don’t you run?” So he did. He entered the race with a passionate heart full of good intentions. But sometime during the campaign he started being doubtful. His opponent had all the big endorsements and lots of money. Rubio described how all he kept thinking was about how he was going to look when he suffered such a big defeat. He is a lawyer. Who would hire him when he looked so bad in this loss?

But at some point he remembered who he was and his passion. He remembered why he ran. He remembered his passionate heart. He is Hispanic. He remembered that life is not always fair. He remembered how grateful is grandfather and father were for the “opportunities” they and now he had in life. He shifted his focus back away from his ego to his passionate heart. And ultimately he won the election.

And that is why I did not turn off the interview. And it is why I was given it as today’s message. It is not about the politics. It is a message about remembering gratitude. It is a message about liberation. It is about breaking away from the negative ego and listening to what your heart knows. It is about focusing on what your heart knows and staying true to what it is passionate about. That is the message. That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take……

-Meditate. Focus on what your passionate heart wants to tell you.

-Drink lots of water.

-Take 10 deep breaths outdoors. Go for a walk. Notice Mother Earth. Feel her nurturing spirit.

-Play.

What made me smile yesterday……

-Lots of house cleaning.

-I finally (after many months) made a trip to the jewelry store to drop off my favorite pieces for repair.

-Dianne and Gary surprised us with a trip to town. We had a great time out with them as well as Jen and Ryan.

-There is just something reassuring about old friends.

-What a coincidence….Alex met up with a guy from her home town…..way up in Whidbey Island. It really  is a small world.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Chris
