Archangel Gabriel

For your consideration…..

The picture above is Archangel Gabriel who is indeed the Archangel of HOPE.  It was Archangel Gabriel who visited Zacharias and Mary and told them of their impending births of their sons, John the Baptist and Jesus Christ. It is also said that Archangel Gabriel dictated the Koran to Mohammad. And Archangel Gabriel is with each of us at conception and works with us instilling in us our Sacred Marching Orders for our life’s journey. He is never far and we can call on him at any time for help with our journey. He is always available to deliver HOPE and encouragement. (“Sacred Marching Orders” is book written by my friend and mentor Pat Fero. As Pat puts it,it s a life altering guide to find and honor your sacred purpose.)

Those who remember what their Sacred Marching Orders are blessed. Most people don’t. Indeed the journey of our life is to identify and then fulfill them.That is a whole topic onto itself and we will talk about that another day. But I bring it up because after years of asking the question, mine was delivered to me. Very simply, I am to deliver HOPE and JOY to women and children.

I have to be honest. I think I thought this big plan or picture would be given to me. I would just print it off and stick it on my vision board and voila. I could just sit back and watch it unfold because now I knew. I had identified it. So I just didn’t quite know what to do with this HOPE thing.

Then I started thinking. Unconsciously, I had been noticing for a very long time HOPE or lack of it and been reacting to it. I just didn’t remember that it was my Life Purpose…My Sacred Marching Orders.

Where did see HOPE or lack of it? I saw it in the school system. It was easy to see those students who had it and those who didn’t. I can not tell you the number of times I thought and/or said out loud. “They don’t have HOPE. They don’t know their possibilities. They need a plan. Because at some point, as they check things off that plan, they will realize they can succeed.” They would get HOPE.

I saw HOPE or lack of it working with survivors of domestic violence. The tag line I use bit by bit, piece by piece, is what I say to survivors. “There is not magic fix. You got here bit by bit, piece by piece. And bit by bit, piece by piece, is how you can make it change.” That is the HOPE.

I saw it in the welfare system and politics. You see, if you can make someone feel entitled or make them believe they need someone else to take care of them to survive, you rob them of their HOPE. Help and support should always come with a plan and expectation to help people to help themselves. That is the HOPE.

HOPE is the spark that ignites us and gives us the encouragement to take that next step forward. Without it, that step is in the same place or worse yet backwards. In HOPE there is an expectation of fulfillment of our wants, desires, dreams, goals, our own Life Purpose… Sacred Marching Orders.

I admit, I was a little disappointed when I received my Life Purpose. This is it? But ahhh, as I dug deeper and remembered what I had observed and been disturbed by, I realized this is an important Life Purpose. I accept. It is on faith that I believe I will given the tools I need to deliver HOPE.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, hope by hope action steps anyone can do…..

-Breath deeply, outdoors

-Pause for as long as you can. Remember to honor that perfect Core Essence Self

-Pick a moment and really be in it….relish it
