“The Hidden Life”

Secrets of Contentment

by

J. R. Miller

For your consideration……

“Be content with where you are and excited about where you are going.” That is the message we have been given today.

I have often thought and recently said to my daughters and friends, “When I look back and think about those trials and troubles of my life, I see that I just went through them. I remember the strife and worry I put myself through. But I don’t remember most of the reasons why nor how I got through them. But I did. We all do.” We get to that next moment and the next and suddenly the landscape of our life is changed.

This is the same for all of us. We have the tools in our life tool box to carry us through. We know this so we have a firm foundation built on experience to carry HOPE into each day. That HOPE is our key to contentment. And contentment creates the energy to grow and nurture excitement IF we choose to do so.

We can treat contentment as our end game or we can use it as the yeast to expand and create our potential.

We all have days we dread or at least do not look forward to. But think about it. We don’t know what that day will bring us. When we go into the day dreading it, that is the energy we pull to ourselves and it is hard to see the potential. Consider changing it up. Pretend it is your birthday, Christmas or a special day of your choice. Expect surprises. Expect gifts because each day is indeed a gift should we choose to accept it.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…….

-Meditate….Meditation can center you and bring a healthy attitude.

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and breathe. Take in at least 10 deep breaths. Feel your oneness with the whole. Feel your wholeness in the One.

-Journal the surprises and gifts that show up today.

-Express gratitude.

What made me smile yesterday…..

An unexpected sunny day.

-A new friend at the pool.

-A little road trip with Bruce. I do mean little but I have to laugh because he considers it big.

-Cathy and I chatting. We are so excited that her and John will soon be here.

-A new little business adventure.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Chris
