For your consideration…

Today’s message gives us perspective on why we should not judge others or make their choices for them.

Let me give a couple of very simple examples. Today I was talking with my friend, and I asked her how her husband’s solo drive to the UP went. He dreaded doing it, but it went fine. While he dreaded a solo 6-hour drive, I thought it sounded like a dream…a gift. I love long drives by myself. I get in touch with people I haven’t had a chance to talk to, I listen to books on tape or listen to music. Any one of those things is a joy for me. It is not a question of who is right or wrong. It is a life preference.

Another example is cooking. Many women (and men) absolutely hate to cook. My mom was one of them. She tried to like it more as she got older, but she never really liked it. Other women, like me, love to cook. I love to plan an event and a meal. It is fun for me. I like to try new things, so I almost always include a “guinea pig” recipe. If it is not a big success, I never make it again. If it was, I put it in my private recipe collection. Again, it is “different strokes for different folks.” What one person loves, another hates. What one person looks forward to, another dreads.

We are unique, one of a kind. We were not made like any other, and we are not expected to act like anyone else. So let’s be kind to one another and not pass judgment.

That is theĀ HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Remember…You are the keeper of your light. Wherever you go, there can be no darkness.

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Be nonjudgmental.

What made me smile yesterday…

-A beautiful day.

-Outdoor weeding done and plants brought in.

-Returns done.

-Donations dropped off.

-Catching up with Alex.

-A good book.

-Some cards made.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
