Color of Truth
by
Josephine Wall
For your consideration…..
We have heard a lot about truth the last few months. We were told that from here on in nothing but the truth will do. Today our message is again about truth.
Most of us have heard the saying referencing “coloring the truth”. In fact that is just what we are being told today. The truth has been colored over so much that much of life has faded to black, white and grey. We recognize truth in its true color but too often we or we let others color over it to fit into our plans.
Why? Because sometimes the truth is inconvenient. Sometimes it is painful to look at. Sometimes it is just easier to let it be changed then to challenge it.
So how has that worked for the world? When was the last time you turned on the news and saw unaltered truth? Many of us have settled for watching someone who we feel least changes it. Or still there are those who watch those whose altered views most match their own altered views. That is simply not going to work anymore.
Truth stands on its own. We may not like its color but it is vibrant and true and needs no alteration. In fact, adjusting the truth is no longer acceptable. We are being asked to step back and away. We are being asked to let the truth step forward in full color and let its light fall where it needs to. Our world as we know it is changing. We will like it if we but give it a chance. That is the HOPE.
Colors of the Wind
You think you own whatever land you land on
The earth is just a dead thing you can claim
But I know every rock and tree and creature
Has a life, has a spirit, has a name
You think the only people who are people
Are the people who look and think like you
But if you walk the footsteps of a stranger
You’ll learn things you never knew you never knew
Have you ever heard the wolf cry to the blue corn moon
Or asked the grinning bobcat why he grinned?
Can you sing with all the voices of the mountain?
Can you paint with all the colors of the wind?
Can you paint with all the colors of the wind?
Come run the hidden pine trails of the forest
Come taste the sun-sweet berries of the earth
Come roll in all the riches all around you
And for once, never wonder what they’re worth
The rainstorm and the river are my brothers
The heron and the otter are my friends
And we are all connected to each other,
In a circle, in a hoop that never ends
Have you ever heard the wolf cry to the blue corn moon
Or let the eagle tell you where he’s been
Can you sing with all the voices of the mountain?
Can you paint with all the colors of the wind
Can you paint with all the colors of the wind
How high does the sycamore grow?
If you cut it down, then you’ll never know
And you’ll never hear the wolf cry to the blue corn moon
For whether we are white or copper-skinned
We need to sing with all the voices of the mountain
Need to paint with all the colors of the wind
You can own the earth and still
All you’ll own is earth until
You can paint with all the colors of the wind
Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…..
-Meditate….Focus on your authentic self…your core. Tap into your truth and work from it. Do not alter or let anyone else alter it.
-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.
-Drink lots of water.
-Take notice and jot down every time during the course of today something that just does not ring true. You don’t have to understand it all. Just turn your radar on and start to notice. If you notice something that does not ring true, dismiss it. You do not need it. It does not serve you.
What made me smile yesterday…..
-My Peanut is 10.
-I got great text messages from her.
-She is having fun on her “Mom and Girls” Chicago weekend.
-I stayed in my PJ’s trying to get ahead of this cold. I smile because I was able to do that. Nothing is on my plate that can not wait.
Love, Blessings and Gratitude,
Chris
