When you look in the mirror today, who do you see?
Do you see the beauty within?
Pope John Paul II says, “A human being is a single being. Unique and unrepeatable.”
I believe that. I believe that about you and I believe that about me.
Is that what you see? Is that what you believe? If not, why not?
Seeing you for the perfect and complete human being you are is so important to the world. You are a gift. But if you don’t see it, don’t feel it, you won’t fully share your gifts. In fact, you won’t even try to identify them.
If you are unwilling to acknowledge your own beauty, then how likely are you to see the same in others.
When I look in the mirror, I see accomplishment…I see someone who loves deeply…. I see a good friend… I see a good mother… I see a good volunteer…I see a seeker…I see HOPE because I may not be all that I am supposed to be yet. But I am on the journey. And so are you.
Bit by bit, piece by piece, hope by hope action steps anyone can do….
-Look in the mirror. Write down at least 5 gifts the unique you has to offer.
-Pause for as long as you are comfortable.
-Repeat at least 10 times. “I am an unique and unrepeatable gift.”
-Take at least 10 deep breaths outdoors.
-Start a gratitude journal or you can call it a smile journal
What made me smile yesterday….
-Lunch with 2 amazing “gentlemen”
-A very funny story shared by my daughter
-My friend, Sandy, is so generous with her thoughts. Thank you Sandy.
-My friend, Jul, said she was up for lunch soon. Just remembering that today made me smile.
-A happy phone call from my sis, Lori and her text this evening. You just got to love her.
