For your consideration…

When today’s message came in, I immediately thought about an interview with Abbie Hornacek. She is the star of a reality series I love called Park’d. She travels to all of our national parks documents her experiences. In one she had to bungee jump. She said she had done it before and “once was enough” but in the park she was in she needed to do it again…and again…and again.

We all have experiences where we think, “OK been there, done that, once is enough.” Or, “Glad I did it but don’t want to do it again.” This can be about anything in our life, people, places, things, experiences, etc.

But our message today says, “Wait, not so fast. Don’t be so quick to dismiss.” Rarely is once enough for us to fully experience and understand. Things change with time as do we. What we hated as a child we may love as an adult. Often this is the case with food and our taste buds. Food is actually a good example. We may not like a food but prepared differently we may love it.

The ingenuity of the human race constantly invents newer, better, and easier products, methods, etc. that make things easier. What was once a huge hassle is much easier now enabling us to try something again.

Our message recognizes that sometimes once is enough but it wants us to give it a second pause and thought. Is our reasons still valid? We don’t want to miss out on life events needlessly.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE aciton steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Remember…You are the keeper of the light. Wherever you go, there can be no darkness.

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Be sure before we rule things out.

What made me smile yesterday…

-A beautiful day.

-Beautiful snow.

-Catching up with Jackie and Alex.

-I cooked dinner and took some over to Mary.

-A good book.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
