For your consideration…

For sure there are a lot of BIG things going on in our lives and in the world. It is easy to get focused on wishing for BIG changes, Big blessings, etc.

Our message today tells us that that is normal. But…there is always a but, a counter balance,…we are reminded to not be so focused on the big things that we miss the LITTLE things. Let’s no be so focused on the big that we don’t see the LITTLE changes. Let’s not be so focused on the big blessings that we don’t see the small blessings, etc.

Everyday we are given blessings. Everyday we are given little surprises and delights designed to put a smile on our face and add joy to our heart.

When I was given this message, I was reminded about yesterday. I was asked to watch my grandson, Conner. It just happened that our Moose Club was having a Halloween party. He couldn’t wait for the BIG party asking many times if it was time yet. He loved his Chase costume. He loved the trick or treating. But then he wanted to play on the club’s playground. At first he was the only one but soon lots and lots of kids joined him. What you see above is one the playgrounds two planes. When you get in them, they bank right or left. There are gauges to maneuver, and a steering wheel that turns the prop. It was no surprise having two parents that flew for the Navy, Conner was drawn to it. I was sitting quite a bit away from him but I heard Conner ask mother and daughter if they wanted a ride. We don’t know them. They were walking on a beam but when they were done, they climbed in and let Conner take them for a ride. As you can see from the picture, it was probably not easy for the back passenger. But they did it.  It was a little thing that helped make Conner’s day special and it blessed my heart.

These people probably have not given this act of kindness a second thought. It was a small thing. But it made our day BIG.

That is the HOPE And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Remember…You are the keeper of the light. Wherever you go, there can be no darkness.

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Don’t overlook the LITTLE things.

What made me smile yesterday…

-A beautiful fall day.

-Catching up with Shannon, Barb, Lori, and Lisa.

-A fun Halloween party.

-A good book.

-A great day with Conner and Alex.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
