Rhythms
For your consideration…..
Thank you, thank you. While today’s message was delivered in an unorthodox way, it is an easy one. It is a gentle reminder….something for us to take notice of.
I woke up early and just as I was about to go back to sleep, I was prompted to get up and watch the sunrise. Seriously? Well alright then. I got up, put on a pot of coffee, meditated and did as I was asked.
With a throw over me and a warm cup of coffee in my hands, I sat quietly and watched the sunrise. I watched the sun ever so slowly lift the veil of darkness then start to push it back. I watched as first the sun outlined the clouds and then finally backlit them all. I watched the colors turn from yellow to orange. I watched the birds wake up and take flight. I felt the stillness of the water. I felt the magic of a new day. I wondered at the precision of it all.
I remember my first sunrise. I lived in Lexington, MI, a tiny town in the thumb. I was at a sleepover with several other girls and we got the bright idea to sneak out and go down to the beach to watch the sunrise. I was terrified my mother would find out but went with my friends anyway and was amazed that morning as well.
We are not only partners and interact with each other. We are partners and interact with all of nature here on Mother Earth and with the rest of the Universe as well. There is a rhythm and precision to it all and we are part of it.
We notice this rhythm easily enough when there is a natural disaster. But we tend to ignore it on a day-to-day level. When we do this we forget our place. We forget its importance. We forget to be full partners. We forget to be grateful. We are full partners in the cycle of life. So today we are reminded to always be mindful to be in sync with the Universe. That is the HOPE.
Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take….
-Meditate. Feel you rhythm. Feel your peace.
-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths. Feel the exchange of breathing in the life-sustaining air and releasing the old for cleansing. Feel your part of the Universe.
-Drink lots of water. Feel it cleansing you. Feel yourself waking up. Feel your clarity.
-I know it is winter so some of us will have to wait on this one. But if you are in a warmer climate, walk barefoot. Feel Mother Earth beneath your feet. Feel her energy.
-Pause over your food. Honor from where it came.
-Be mindful of your energy and what you are releasing into the Universe.
What made me smile yesterday……
-Alex having a great time in Montana.
-Shannon and Will juggling activities i.e.: basketball games, music lessons.
-Bruce and I took a ride into Marine City and stopped at a local pub we had not been in for a long time. And I found a great quilting store.
-Red Wings won in OT.
-A great walk through neighborhoods and then down to the river.
-Bruce got “Pawn Stars” season 2 DVD’s for Christmas. We watched some of them and got some good laughs.
