For your consideration…

From birth we all need to be soothed and comforted. We naturally know how to do the to newborns. It gets more complicated on exactly how we do that as we grow. Ultimately, when we become adults, it is up to us to figure out and know what we need to find peace and comfort.

Our message today tells us that being soothed and comforted is as important to us as adults as it was when we were newborn. As adults we experience many more stressors. The outside influences we encounter as we live our daily lives are many.

It is important that we know what and how to sooth ourselves. It is important that we do sooth and comfort ourselves daily…throughout the day.

What soothes you?….A stuffy, holding a pet, food, deep breathing, running/exercise, rubbing stones or worry dolls, praying/meditating, friends, music, yoga, reading….etc.

If we pause, we can figure out what calms, soothes, and comforts us. In a stressful world, we need to use them.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Remember…You are the keeper of the light. Wherever you go, there can be no darkness.

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Comfort yourself.

What made me smile yesterday…

A beautiful day. My yard is recovering from all the rain.

-Breakfast with Mary.

-Successful JoAnn fabric shopping.

-I ran into Kevin and Janet in Meijer’s. It was so fun catching us. At one point Kevin says, “What do you think of this election?” Immediately, we are whispering. Then we notice. This is crazy. This is the United States of American. We are free. We don’t have to whisper. We can carry on our conversation like we have been. Yikes.

-Catching up with my brother and sister.

-Checking in with all relatives down south and finding out they are all fine.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
