For your consideration…

Today’s message is about being bombarded with information. With the breakneck speed of technology, we have access to more information than we can possibly absorb.

Our message today says that is not a problem. What is a problem is, being discriminate with what we do.

I was immediately given a couple symbolic examples. Both have to do with places I like to go. The first is to my daughter, Alex’s and the second is White Lotus Farm. In both cases the quickest way is traveling a good part of the way on the freeway. And in both cases the alternate route takes a slight bit longer but travels through the countryside. Of course, if given a choice, I always travel through the country. It is easy to take in Mother Nature and whatever else is going on while traveling at the slower speed. My mind is more peaceful and my thinking clearer.

We are asked to slow down and be mindful of any and all information we let settle into our minds and souls. Remember the all important question, “Is it true?” “Who says it is true?” “How do they know?”

Consider this quote by Mike Royko…” It’s been my policy to view the Internet not as an “information highway” but as an electronic asylum filled with babbling loonies.”

Think for yourself. Discover truth on your own.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Remember…You are the keeper of the light. Wherever you go, there can be no darkness.

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Slow down and search for the truth.

What made me smile yesterday…

-A beautiful day.

-A great school day.

-Catching up with both my girls.

-A good book series.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
