For your consideration…

I once knew a woman who bought 15 slips among other things when Winkleman’s went out of business. They were high quality and she got them for $1 a piece. Her thought was that they would make great gifts. The trouble with that was that she was always doing that. She had so many great sales and gifts that she there were not enough family, friends, and holidays to give it all too. You could not walk through her house. Eventually she bought another one to contain all of her “great buys.” She was a hoarder.

Hoarding is a sickness. Hoarders are trying to fill a need. But it never does fulfill the need so they keep buying or saving things they think they will need. Most of us have a bit of hoarding going on but we eventually realize that this is not the case and if we can figure out how to get rid of the “stuff,” we can do so. I think that it is this realization that brings in today’s message.

We do not need to be afraid. Personal history shows that we have enough. We are provided for. That is the first step. The second is when we realize that in the giving of things we value to the service and benefit of others, we create the space for what we truly want to attract in our own lives. The more we give, the more we receive.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Remember…You are the keeper of the light. Wherever you go, there can be no darkness.

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is the next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Give of yourself, time, and treasures.

What made me smile yesterday…

-A beautiful day.

-Great 3rd graders.

-Finally, a haircut.

-A visit with Mac, Will and Shannon.

-A very early bedtime. I feel fabulous today.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
