For your consideration…

The message we are given is about our search to find, understand, know, and merge ourselves with Spirit. I sat with it, as I often do, to figure out how to do this. I was given two helpful hints. The first was look to Rumi which I did in the above quote. Second I was reminded of a conversation I had with my youngest daughter.

When Alex was getting ready to be confirmed, she had some disappointment. She was completing catechism and said this to me. “I learned all about the church but when do I learn about God and the Bible?”

I was baptized Catholic but my parents divorced and so never attended church after I was five years old. I missed that. When I was able to drive, it was my mission to attend church again. I loved the Catholic church and it launched my spiritual journey. In turn I brought both of my girls up Catholic. with the intention that it would a stepping stone, a starting point, for their spiritual journey.

Like, Alex, my church did, does not, provide all of the answers for me. My journey, your journey, is an individual one. There are infinite ways for us to find our way. All of them, whatever ones work for us, are perfect. That includes those paths we take that we ultimately abandon. We learn by seeking and doing.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Remember…You are the keeper of the light. Wherever you go, there can be no darkness.

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Rejoice in the journey towards our spiritual growth.

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

What made me smile yesterday…

-A beautiful day.

-Taking care of business with Dish. Repairman on his way. Account adjusted.

-My Ford Credit account squared away with my new car.

-My virus protection is finally back up and running.

-Doctor contacted and prescriptions renewed.

-Bills paid.

-Yeah…all of the above tasks have been on a to do list which I dreaded doing. I feel great today.

-A good book.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
