For your consideration…

Today’s message came in with the common quote, “You can lead a horse to water but you can’t make them drink.” But it came in specifically, for friends. While we all can benefit from today’s message, I have a very strong sense that this message is targeted for a specific person.

It is easy being a friend when we agree. Indeed, we wouldn’t be friends if we did not have a lot in common and believing in many of the same things. We love and care for our friends. We want good things for them. So it is painful and difficult when we see them going down a path we think is wrong for them. Perhaps even repeating mistakes they have made before.

Our message today reminds us that we can and should be honest with our friends. We can express our concerns. But ultimately, we have to let them make and do what they want to do. We are reminded that we are still their friend and they still need our friendship and support perhaps even more than before.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm….“I am loved.”

-Remember…You are the keeper of the light. Wherever you go, there can be no darkness.

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Support our friends even when we don’t agree with them.

What made me smile yesterday…

-A beautiful day.

-My summer camp class is great. They are a great group of students.

-Catching up with Alex, Jody, and Mary.

-My garden is producing some great vegetables.

-A good book.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
