For your consideration…

I have to laugh out loud at today’s message and this image I found for it.

My guess is that we have all done this. We get a thought in our head. We just can’t let it go. Sometimes we even grow it. And then we let it become our reality. We are convinced it is true. At some point…HOPEfully… we come to our senses and get some context. Perhaps we realize we were wrong or at least blew it way out of proportion.

I am laughing because this has come up so much in my life lately. You know what they say…look in the mirror. My friend’s brother always jokes about his wife. He tell of some event and then adds, “…and then Kathy blew it up.” I have been helping a friend who had a stroke. His personality has not changed, he has always been a “pot stirrer.” The difference now is that he has added frustration. It is hard to get him to listen…to anyone else.

But you know what they say…look in the mirror. So the message today is check your thoughts and make sure we are not adding stress and drama to our lives by believing all of the doom and gloom our ego likes to throw at us.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Remember…You are the keeper of the light. Wherever you go, there can be no darkness.

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Don’t buy into unnecessary drams, even our own.

What made me smile yesterday…

-A chill morning.

-I ushered at Hill for the movie, Godfather. The movie was played and the music was played by a live orchestra just like the early days of movies. The auditorium was packed and it was a fabulous event.

-A good book.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
