WHO EMRO | Children's art competition on COVID-19 | COVID-19 | Health topics

For your consideration…

I have procrastinated on this message all day. It is about competition on a weekend where competition and energy is very intense. Yikes.

I used to say that I liked swimming because you were part of a team but the real competition was yourself. It is always about beating your best time.

Our message today tells us that competition is good. Without it, we are not pushed to grow. But…the flip side…is negative competition. What is that? It is when we compete to the detriment of others. Healthy competition…competition that is full of light and positive energy…is determined by the intention. The best competition, the intention with the highest good and outcome, is when the intention is for everyone to compete the the best of their ability. It is not about hurting someone else. It is about our best self competing against others who are doing the same. This is where we all grow.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Remember…You are the keeper of the light. Wherever you go, there can be no darkness.

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Keep the spirit of competition full of positive intentions.

What made me smile yesterday…

-A great afternoon with Dianne.

-Catching up with Jackie, Alex, and Shannon.

-Lunch at the Belleflower is was great.

-A good book.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
