season 3 GIF by SpongeBob SquarePants

For your consideration…

This old Dick Van Dyke song, “Put On A Happy Face,” is perfect for our message today:

… Gray skies are gonna clear up,Put on a happy face;Brush off the clouds and cheer up,Put on a happy face.Take off the gloomy mask of tragedy,It’s not your styleYou’ll look so good that you’ll be gladYa’ decide to smile

Our message today is exactly this, “Smile, it is your invitation for others to do the same.” A smile lets others know you are open for interaction. It is a signal to the Universe that you want happiness and joy.

The second part of the message reminds us that smiles are not a “one and done” thing. We have an endless supply of smiles. Indeed, the more we use them, the more prolific they are.We simply have to choose to use them.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Remember…You are the keeper of the light. Wherever you go, there can be no darkness.

-Use your smile.

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

What made me smile yesterday…

-Some baking and gift bags done.

-Catching up with Jackie.

-Beth, Shannon, Alex, Conner and I went to dinner and then Henry Ford Museum to see Polar Express in 3D. What an experience. Conner has been to a couple live theater events but not to a movie. He loves trains but admittedly Polar Express is a little scary in the beginning. He cried a little, trembled, but could not take his eyes away…that is without the 3D glasses. Alex was so good. She thought about taking him out but stuck it out. Then as they go to the North Pole and the movie got light, Conner was engrossed. He put on the glasses and sat forward away from her, completely enchanted. It was so fun.

-A good book.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
