For your consideration…

That’s the message. “Look for the blessing beyond the boo boo.” When we were kids and we got a boo boo. We looked for the kiss from our Mom and a band-aid. When we got to school, we accept our teacher’s sympathy and the band-aid.

Of course, today’s message is about physical challenges but it also goes beyond to include experiences. For example, those great way laid plans that get interrupted. Recently I had plans with a friend to take Conner to the Toledo Zoo’s fabulous light show. We canceled due to the weather and choose a new night that happened to be last night. Our blessing was that it turned out to be the best night of the winter so far. We had a fabulous time.

Our life is full of interruptions, mistakes, and boo boos. Our God does not make mistakes. There is always a reason for our highest good that they happen. We are asked today to look for the reason…that blessing…and with gratitude feel the love behind them.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Remember…You are the keeper of the light. Wherever you go, there can be no darkness.

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Look for the blessings beyond the boo boo.

What made me smile yesterday…

-A beautiful day.

-Picking Conner up from school.

-Hearing his little voice coming down the stairs after his nap, “Mimi, I waked up and am coming down.” Evidently he has never got out of bed on his own even though he is in a big bed now. Yikes, sorry Mom and Dad.

-A fabulous night at the Toledo Zoo.

-A good book albeit a short read before I nodded off.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
