For your consideration…

We are rapidly approaching the new year and with it those resolutions we will make. Most people do not have a lot of luck achieving them but certainly we deserve a pat on the back for the effort. We ponder what those resolutions will be and then wait for the new year to start to implement them. But we are setting ourselves up for failure because what we should be doing is preparing and getting a head start on them.

Studies show that it takes from 21 to 66 days or more to break a habit or form a new one. It makes sense to start now in preparation…give ourselves a head start…and a good chance at achieving those New Year’s Resolutions.

We are asked today to figure out what we want to change and accomplish in the next year and start preparing and implementing now.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Remember…You are the keeper of the light. Wherever you go, there can be no darkness.

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Get a head start.

What made me smile yesterday…

-Catching up with Mary and Alex.

-Karl’s Cabin has finally reopened after their fire last year. Ginger had a great lunch while catching up.

-Talk about head start. My son-in-law, Will, has lost 65 pounds this year. I knew he would not eat a cake, cupcake, or cookies if I made them for his birthday. Instead, I picked up crab cakes from Karl’s and took them to him as night for an appetizer. He loved them.

-It was fun visiting with Shannon and then Will and his friends when they got home. Sometimes the best times are those impromptu ones.

-A good book.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
