For your consideration…

There are many examples we could have for today’s message. it is interesting that the picture I was given was of a small fishbowl. You just have to love it.

In a nutshell our message is this. Routine maintenance is great. it keeps things humming along. But even doing this, eventually a system will start to slow down…not work at its peak performance. In the case of the fish bowl, we can take a replace a portion of the water to clean the tank. But eventually we will have to put the fish in some water elsewhere while we clean the bowl entirely and replace all of the water. Think of your coffee machine. We clean it out each day but eventually we need to run some vinegar and water threw it to deep clean it. It is the same thing with keeping house. We may clean often but at some point we need to “spring clean.” Or how about our physical health? We work to stay healthy but eventually we need some intervention.

It is all the same thing with our “spiritual” self. We know that pausing and taking a deep breath when we are stressed helps calm us by getting rid of the excess adrenalin and cortizol that is unhealthy for us. Getting outdoors and taking deep breaths everyday is healthy. But eventually we need to “deep clean” or “flush out” all of our concerns, fear, anger…negative energy. We do that by investing in a chunk of time to stop, pause, and deep breath into a deep meditation. We stay there until we feel all of the negative energy is gone and we once again feel peaceful, calm, loved, and whole.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Remember…You are the keeper of the light. Wherever you go, there can be no darkness.

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at lease 10 deep breaths.

-Deep clean our spiritual self with deep meditation.

What made me smile yesterday…

-Another beautiful day.

-Sometimes the best of intentions just don’t work out.

-Catching up with both my girls, Jody, and Bob.

-Shopping done for my euchre party and Thanksgiving.

-Read the next book in a mystery series.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
