For your consideration…

Our message came in via the Tim McGraw song, “Live Like You Were Dying.” The song is beautiful but when we are just reading the title we might think it is a bit depressing.

The reality is that from the day we are born we are moving closer to our death. While we tend to think it will be later rather than sooner, we have no way of knowing that. This song, our message, wants us to look at the bright side of life. Think in the light.

What are the things we would choose to do, people we want to see and be with, places we want to go, things we want to get accomplished, etc. if we knew we were dying. What would our priorities be? Would they be the same of different?

This moment is the only guaranteed one we are have. Do we want to waste it on pettiness, arguing, bitterness, etc. Do we want to wear and share a frown or a smile. Do we want to bring our best self or worse to the moment?

We have the power to bring this moment to its full potential or not. Do we want to waste it or not? If we only had a few moments, would this be one we choose? We have a choice. We always have a choice.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Remember…You are the keeper of the light. Wherever you go, there can be no darkness.

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Make a bucket list. Set priorities. It doesn’t have to be big things. Remember, without judgment there is no big or small.

What made me smile yesterday…

-A beautiful day.

-A fun ride north with Conner and Alex.

-I don’t know who I was telling recently but I told someone I was craving a Slim Jim from Big Boys. We saw one in West Branch and my craving is satisfied.

-A beautiful room in Grand Traverse Resort.

-A good new mystery.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
