For your consideration…

I am sure all of us have heard this saying before. My mom used it all of her life. And I have to say, she lived by it. I woke up with this message today and really should have paid attention before I hopped out of bed and got dressed and ready to go out before I made myself a cup of coffee and checked my phone.

No matter how sure of a thing it looks to be, we are told to wait until it happens before we depend on it. We are not in charge of the Universe and all of its many moving people, things, events, etc. We sometimes have those messages reminding us to pause and think about all that has to take place for this moment to occur. Any one of those pieces can change or not be in place for the “chickens” not to hatch.

Today’s message wants to add to and give some depth to this saying that we don’t normally think about. Think about baking a cake or planting a garden, etc. We are clear on the steps. We know that you can not leave out ingredients for the cake to turn out. We know that you can’t pick vegetables or fruit before it is ripe for it to taste good. Assuming something is going to happen…counting our chickens…doesn’t allow for the growth that needs to happen for full potential and success.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm..“I am loved.”

-Remember…You are the keeper of the light. Wherever you go, there can be no darkness.

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Don’t push so hard that we cut short the full potential of our blessings.

What made me smile yesterday…

-Brunch with Shannon, Alex, James, and Conner.

-A little fall shopping.

-Beth and I ushered at Hill Auditorium for a great show by Snarky Puppies.

-Baked some zucchini bread.

-Finished a good book series.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
