For your consideration…

For a long time I wondered about why my husband, Bruce, got us so early to go to work. He only worked 7 miles away but would get up a couple hours early. Finally I said, “You could do some things different so you don’t have to get up so early. For instance, you could let the dog out while you brushed your teeth and washed your face. You don’t have to wait for him to come in.” His response, “Don’t IE my morning.” I was an industrial engineer for a while which is a blessing and a curse. It is great to eliminate waste and make things more efficient but frustrating to see so much waste with no one doing anything about it. My husband did not want any efficiency put into his morning. He liked it just the way he had it.

I would bet that all of us have jumped out of bed and rushed to get ready to leave the house. Perhaps the first real relaxing breath we take is when we settle into the car and start the drive to work or wherever we are going. How many times have we said, “My day started off … and it just continued that way throughout…one thing after another.”

Bruce was given as our example today because our message is about easing into our day. He had a routine that he religiously followed so that he started his day the way that made him comfortable. Remember, today is a gift…a blessing. Wake up and gently prepare to open and reveal the surprises that are in store for us. We are asked to think about finding a routine that makes us relaxed and comfortable and make it a habit.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Remember…You are the keeper of the light. Wherever you go, there can be no darkness.

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Ease into your day.

What made me smile yesterday…

-A beautiful day.

-Relaxing.

-Meeting friends at a class reunion. So fun…

-A new book.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
